Reflecting on 2025: Banyan Infrastructure’s year in review

This past year brought more than it's fair share of unexpected challenges, testing even the most seasoned project finance leaders with sudden shifts across tariffs, regulation, and funding sources. However, in these uncertain moments, the shared values and unwavering commitment of our customers to continue their mission-driven mandates guided our every action. And amidst the chaos, 2025 delivered clarity that the path forward is in developing scalable, standardized process that insures profitability for distributed energy infrastructure.
With customer feedback guiding our product roadmap, we were able to help owner-operators get projects into the ground faster than ever, empower financers to deploy capital faster and smarter, and lay the foundation for responsible AI adoption in project finance.
Thank you to all of you – our investors, colleagues, customers, and community – for the continued partnership and support. We are energized by the opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing this work with you in the new year!
As we wrap up the year, here is a look back at some of our biggest accomplishments from 2025.
Accelerating deal velocity & reducing risk with Banyan
This year, we launched cutting-edge platform enhancements designed to automate core operations, generate intelligent performance insights, and continuously improve the user experience in Banyan. We supported over 2,500 sustainable projects, enabling institutions to strategically deploy capital, manage risk more effectively, and ultimately improve investment outcomes.
We rolled out a host of new capabilites designed to help our customers maximize their impact:
- We launched the next generation of Portfolio Management and Origination with a suite of features to automate workflows and simplify complex performance analysis so institutions can deploy capital faster, minimize risk, and improve portfolio returns
- We created a new AI Advisory board: A consortium of executives and leaders from infrastructure funds and banks to speak directly with the market to understand everything AI, including adoption, hesitation, feedback on our AI roadmap, and early access to our new AI features
- We expanded our integrations capabilities - from deeper Salesforce integrations to stronger excel workflows - to make it easier than ever to create a central source of truth for project finance on Banyan.
Bringing our ecosystem together
We felt the best way to support the sustainable infrastructure industry in 2025 was to provide a platform for leaders in the space to convene, share challenges, and problem-solve. By facilitating intimate, targeted gatherings and workshops across multiple cities, we united leaders to collectively discuss how to improve portfolio profitability, resiliency, and scalability.
Our events were some of the best yet, including:
- We launched Banyan Connect, an innovative, in-person event series for our customers and industry leaders to collaborate, share insights, and create the future of sustainable project finance - we’re continuing this series in 2026, so make sure to watch out for an event near you!
- We cheered on our Co-Founder and COO Amanda Li as she took the main stage at 6 of the year’s premier sustainable project finance events! From keynote presentations to industry panels, Amanda shared our vision for the future of green investment on a global scale
- We were honored to co-host the WRISE executive panel and networking reception in San Francisco. It was an inspiring night of connection and high-level strategy focused on two of the year’s biggest themes: AI-driven energy demand and the next generation of grid modernization
Pushing project finance forward
We drove forward our founding principle of market leadership by collaborating across the sustainable infrastructure market on how to unleash catalytic capital from both private and public sectors.
Some of our major highlights included:
- In partnership with Coalition for Green Capital (GCG), we co-created the Green Bank and Municipal Partner Playbook with our Advisory team to guide effective public-private partnerships
- We hosted 56 executives and partners at a hands-on session in Detroit focused on developing durable, deliberate strategies for deploying capital into sustainable infrastructure projects
- We produced a cutting-edge study for the Maine Department of Energy Resources (DOER), offering the state a critical roadmap for clean energy development
What’s next - our predictions for a successful 2026
As we wrap up an incredible 2025, we are already looking toward the horizon. To get sustainable projects scaling faster and smarter, we believe the following drivers will define success in the coming year.
While AI is now "everywhere," and 2026 will be the year project finance demands a practical path to responsible use. The AI explosion introduces risks, but we believe project financiers can harness its speed without compromising accuracy. Banyan will continue to champion AI applications built and tested to the rigorous standards that project finance demands.
2025 proved that highly bespoke, project-by-project customization is no longer sustainable in the C&I, with high transaction costs and fragmented diligence actively stalling market growth. In 2026, a renewed focus on standardization will lead the industry by providing tighter construction timelines and expanding margins. At Banyan, we believe that by reimagining diligence, analysis, and collaboration, we can reclaim profitability and accelerate the deployment of critical renewable infrastructure.
We are pleased to have you as a part of our project finance ecosystem as we embark on a new year, together.
