Banyan Infrastructure GGRF One Click EPA Compliance Reporting

Lenders that received GGRF funds can save millions of dollars per year in reporting costs and gain confidence in accuracy with Banyan Infrastructure’s automated, one-click EPA reporting.

In 2022, the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) was established through the Inflation Reduction Act as a $27 billion initiative to accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies across the United States. On July 4, 2025, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBBA) was signed into law, rescinding all un-obligated GGRF funding and repealing the program’s statutory authority.

For banks, community lenders, and green banks that had secured grant funding prior to these changes, ongoing EPA reporting and compliance remain significant challenges; submitting inaccurate or incomplete reports carries substantial risks, including grant termination, legal or financial penalties, and project delays.

EPA Compliance is Time and Labor Intensive

EPA reporting for GGRF-funded clean energy projects involves hundreds of data points that must be tracked across all projects on a quarterly, biannual, or annual basis. At Banyan Infrastructure, we independently mapped each data variable and found over 500 unique data points included in these reports!

The EPA estimates GGRF recipients could spend anywhere from $1.6 million to $10.8 million annually in reporting costs. The projected number of hours required to report on GGRF projects ranged from just under 15,000 to more than 200,000 hours annually. As high as these figures are, several recipient organizations have since argued that the true burden of accurate GGRF reporting is actually much higher.

One-Click EPA Reporting for GGRF Compliance

At Banyan Infrastructure, we have developed a solution: one-click EPA reporting for GGRF projects. This feature allows lenders and green banks and their compliance advisors to submit comprehensive reports to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in seconds using Banyan’s automated compliance tools.

Banyan’s one-click reporting feature:

  • Organizes all project data so that each submission aligns with EPA reporting requirements and supports upstream reporting
  • Follows strict formatting and data integrity standards to ensure accurate submission and auditability
  • Streamlines information collection from counterparties and sub-recipients using questionnaires and data integrations
